About this School Project (Picasso Inspired Self-Portraits)
In the primary grades, we watched the BrainPop video of Pablo Picasso. During the video, we identified abstract art and discussed how Picasso was the coolest abstract artist around. Grades 1-2 also discussed Picasso's various "periods," including blue, rose, and cubist. After, students created their own abstract portrait using crayons and watercolor resist. I gave them steps on how to make a perfect abstract face. Enjoy our abstract art!
Learning Targets:
1.) I can create an abstract portrait, like Picasso.
2.) I can create a self-portrait with crayons and paint.
