About this School Project (Bunnies Dancing Haring Style)
Students looked at the American Pop artist, Keith Haring's dancing dogs and people prints and we decided to make dancing bunnies. The lesson also involved learning about the intermediary colors being made from a primary color and a secondary color mixing and the resulting color having both colors in its name. They made their dancing bunny by cutting Haring style arms and legs out and gluing them, in an action pose, to a body and a bunny head being made and glued on. This became the pattern to trace the bunny onto their choice of intermediary colored paper. The second week they learned about complementary colors being located opposite each other on the color wheel, and glued their bunny to its color's complement. They loved to add the Haring style movement lines to show it was dancing. Please leave comments about these fun, jiving bunnies.
