About this School Project (Illuminating Passports)
Students learned the history of illuminated letters done by monks from around the 5th century Middle Ages. They looked at examples from this period and also from later times. Using their first initial, they drew the letter in their own style, then decorated it as they desired, using colored pencils and gold paint pens. Just as the monks illustrated their letters with items important at that time, many students chose to decorate their letters with items important to them. These illuminated letters are the covers of their "passport"/journals where they will write about each of their multicultural projects this year.
Check out all the 6th grade students' illuminated letters, then please remember to make comments and become a fan club member, too.
