About this School Project (Sound lines)
First graders learned about the art element line. A line is the path of a moving point. We listened to a song about sound waves and looked at the shapes sound waves make. Most waves looked very similar, so we imagined what different sounds might look like. For example, the peeping of a little mouse might look like a dotted line, while the wail of a new Pre-K student might look like a spiral line. Students then created a design using lines and colors. We added a self portrait showing what we look like when we scream, whistle, or just wave hello to a friend.
