About this School Project (Southwest Acoma Pottery)
Students learned to make a white clay pinch pot and decorate them to look like the Acoma polychrome (multicolored, black , brown, and white) pottery made by the Southwest Native Americans, specifically Rose Chino Garcia. They used terra cotta red clay slip and black engobe slip to paint their designs onto their bisque-fired pottery. The next week they clear glazed the entire vessel and it was fired again. Please leave a comment for these young potters.
