About this School Project (Painted and Stuffed Fish)
Kindergarten and 1st graders heard and saw the Dr. Seuss story, McGelligot's Pool, a story full of many imaginary fish. They drew their own imaginary fish, cut out two of that shape, then learned about color mixing, by painting one side with mixtures of red, white, and blue, and the other side with mixtures of red, white, and yellow. After they were dry, they added more fanciful details with oil pastels, then stuffed them with crumpled newspaper. They were stapled closed, and now some hang in the art room, and hopefully the others are hanging up somewhere at home!
