About this School Project (Inspired by India)
After being introduced to the land and people of India, students took inspiration from the national bird, the peacock. Kindergarten examined the parts of a feather, then drew their own, painting it in tempera with a watercolor background. They also created a spiral cobra with marker and watercolor.
First and second grades painted peacocks with tempera.
Third through sixth grades learned about the art of wax batik painting, and designed their own paintings on fabric using acrylic and glue.
