About this School Project (How Ya Feelin'? (Campbell))
Students began this assignment by listening to music. The students then painted what they felt and chose colors to represent those feelings. They were not to create a picture that looked like anything, they were just to use different lines and shapes. The following week, we read "Lucy's Picture," and talked about how some people are unable to see with their eyes and must rely on their sense of touch to "see" things. So they added various items to their painting to create a collage that had the other type of "feeling," texture. The kids did a great job and were very excited about sifting through the boxes of stuff! The art room was a mess, but it was well worth it!
