About this School Project (Color Mixing)
Kindergarten learned how to mix primary colors to get secondary colors, making big dots inspired by our storybook, The Dot. We then carefully cut out our dots and glued them, overlapping, to make a caterpillar.
Third/fourth grades mixed primary oil pastel to get primary and secondary colored umbrellas, and used their neutral colors to draw simple shape people peeking out from under. The rain was a watercolor wash over the oil pastel resist.
Fifth/sixth grades made an abstract line drawing from Sharpie, then demonstrated the use of their primary colors, in one square, to make secondary and tertiary colors in each of the other three squares.
