About this School Project (Color Theory Maxed Out)
I love how these pieces turned out! Students learned about French street artist Mademoiselle Maurice. She focuses on color theory, connecting the colors creatively, and uses origami as a form of street art. We spun it a little differently. Students had to show color transition between two colors using oil pastel on two pieces of paper. They wove the pieces together, showing contrast. Then students used acrylic paint on sheets of paper, choosing high contrasting colors for opposite sides. They came up with a 3D portion, it could be origami or more simple. Then they attached it to their woven piece, emphasizing a specific shape or area of their piece.
