About this School Project (Pinch Pot Penguins)
1st grade started with creating pinch pots out of clay, then shaping a penguin out of clay as well. They then learned how to "scratch and attach" in order to adhere their penguin to the inside of their pinch pot. Once they were bisque fired, they spent a class glazing them with orange, black and white. Then they chose a few blue glass beads to put around their penguin that melted in the kiln during the glaze fire. Instant ice! Beautiful!
