Artist Statement (what Antonio9477 said about their artwork)
WE have been learning about Art History all year. We are finally at contemporary and living artists. This sunset was inspired by Mike Lathrop's colorful Canadian paintings.
First, I created a horizon line. Next, I used liquid watercolors to color the background and water. Lastly, I went in and used a mixture of black acrylic paint to paint the silhouette of the landscape along with the shadows on the water.
I learned about silhouettes against a sunset and reflections on water.
