About this School Project (Tropical Birds 2025)
Third grade students learned step by step how to draw a basic bird body. The students used lines to draw the bird and decorate with patterns (Line is an Element of Art they previously studied). The students were also encouraged to draw a background full of tropical flowers, vines, and leaves to fill the area around their bird. These shapes are Organic (Shape is also an Element of Art). Once the students were finished drawing, they colored the bird with up to five of their favorite colors of marker. Then it was time to paint! Everyone loves to paint- especially with the beautifully bright tempera paints. Students were encouraged to use multiple colors (Color is an Element of Art).
