About this School Project (1st Hexagons and Honeybees)
First graders have been practicing the 6 elements of art: line, shape, color, texture, value and space. With hexagon templates they drew a series of shapes that together form a honeycomb pattern. They added fuzzy honeybees with oil pastels. We combined shapes: oval for the bodies, rounded triangle and teardrop to make the wings.
