About this School Project (3rd grade Texture Mountain)
Students learned about textures and organic shapes in nature. We examined photos of the Grand Canyon and Devil’s Tower (native Lakota name Bear Lodge). Using paint brushes and cotton swabs, students explored mixing primary colors and using washes and stipple techniques to create different textures in their landscapes.
