About this School Project (5th Notans)
After observing and discussing the Japanese design concept of Notan, 5th graders experimented with cutting one of two high contrast paper colors to balance the light and dark elements of their art. Then we added additional shapes in the negative space in an attempt to confuse the viewer about what color was actually manipulated.
