Artist Statement (what Alaya602 said about their artwork)
I chose Rosa Parks for the subjects of this project. I chose to do her because she was a civil rights activist and she helped make a difference in people lives. She was a very kind person and she stood up only for what was right. So I chose her because she is inspiring.
Things I chose:
A photo of the state she was born in
A photo of her
Architectural object- her house, her car, the bus ,
Writing-Quotes, her numbers of jail, birth year, and birthplace
Important object- The cross and her frog
The compositional technique I used was focal point, I used it when I was coloring in the quote “I’m tired” with black ink.
I didn’t have a plan for it before, but the Ms.Marie suggested I co,or I. The words “ precious lord, take my hand”with a dark brown since I believed that the words “I’m tired” were more important. I used black to show interest on one part of the photo, so people can wonder why I used those words.
