Artist Statement (what Edsell1 said about their artwork)
My favorite part of the artwork is the fluidity of the lettering; it captures the essence of joy through its curves. My least favorite would probably be some of the spacing between the letters—it could have been more balanced. The inspiration behind the message "Be Joyful" came from the desire to remind myself and others to embrace positivity, especially in difficult times. It holds a personal meaning because I believe in the power of perspective and maintaining joy through challenges. If I were to create it again, I'd focus on improving the letter spacing and possibly experiment with colors to enhance its vibrancy. Through this artwork, I learned a lot about the importance of balance in calligraphy and how different techniques can evoke distinct emotions.
