About this School Project (Positive and Negative Dove - 1st Grade)
The students learned about positive and negative space. Then they practiced their cutting skills as they cut a dove out of white construction paper. The students were careful to stay on the line to cut the dove shape and keep the paper around the dove in one piece; resulting in two cut sections. The students then created a colorful design of their choice on a separate piece of paper. Both cut pieces were then glued to the colored paper creating one half with the positive space in color and the other half with the negative space in color.
