About this School Project (Zentangle Watercolor Trees)
For this project, students were introduced to zentangles. On a planning paper, students invented 5 zentangle patterns. Students were told to try to draw a pattern that "no one else ever drew before". In addition to this, we learned a more realistic way to draw trees. Basically, we start with a big letter Y and keep adding smaller Ys to it to create the branches! Students then redrew their patterns onto either the tree (positive space) or the background (negative space) and outlined with ink. Lastly, we used liquid watercolors to paint the space that we did not draw our patterns in.
