About this School Project (2, Second Grade Torah Party 2025)
“W“What the Torah means to me.”
One of the core Jewish values at Hillel is Talmud Torah, the sacred study of Torah. We seek to inspire a love of Torah in all forms, so our students can become lifelong learners.
The students in Kitah Bet have been learning Torah all year. They studied the story of the world,s creation in Parashat Beresheit. They learned that“What the Torah means to me.”
They learned that the Torah gives us guidance to a good life, teaches us how to develop a spiritual relationship with God, and teaches us middot: good values to build a healthy and safe connection with each other.
In art, the students made a beautiful keepsake. They began by writing the words: (Torah Tzviah Lanu Moshe) because it reiterates the statement that God gave us the Torah and from there it all began. With their Judaic studies teachers, the second graders wrote what the Torah means to them; which is the essence of their art. They used a special bleeding tissue paper technique adding color. Lastly, the students designed a frame that will forever hold a meeting for words about their Judaic education.
