Artist Statement (what Natalie29983 said about their artwork)
I found working with wire was difficult because of how you have to twist wire around another to make it strong, even though Alexander Calder made it look easy. I chose the face I created because I thought it was my best example of continuous contour and many element of art lines.
About this School Project (Calder Wire Faces)
Students are learning about the Elements of Art in 7th grade. Our first concept is line. We discussed contour lines and created a face of wire using one single line. The artist that inspired us was Alexander Calder because he would bring pliers and wire to gatherings with his friends to make wire portraits of them.

This looks like a Pablo Picasso painting of dad.
