About this School Project (1-Souper Bowls)
Students explored multimedia approach to making art that tricks the eye. Students used oil pastels and watercolor to create their bowl of soup. Students used water soluble markers to create patterned vertical and horizontal lines to create their plaid placemats; students used a wet brush to blend the colors of their placemats and scissors to create fringes on the horizontal ends of their art to make their art appear more realistic. Finally students assembled their artwork, using black chalk to create a shadow around the lower half of their flat objects to make them appear more three dimensional.
