Artist Statement (what Katalina288 said about their artwork)
I used texture plates to create the texture lines shapes and images. I used purple and yellow water paints which are complementary colors. My favorite part of my art is the yellow shape that looks like the sun I also like the stars in the image. I learned that if you add more water to water paint the color gets lighter, and if you add barely any water the color is darker. The most challenging part for me was creating contrast in the colors. If I did this artwork again I would use more of a variety of textures so that they don't blend together. The finished product has purple and yellow stars and a yellow sun with many squares that are also purple and yellow. My least favorite part of the artwork is all the blank spaces. My inspo was the sky the yellow for the sun and the purple for the stars. How light the water paint dried in the finished product is what surprised me.
