About this School Project (Lunar New Year 2025)
Students practiced mark-making techniques with Chinese calligraphy brushes: brush pressure/line variation and different ways to hold the brush.
Next, students participated in a presentation and discussion of Lunar New Year practices and the range of animals associated with each year.
2025 is the Year of the Snake, so students used calligraphy brushes and black paint to produce many paintings of snakes, from which they chose their favorite and added a red signature "chop" that included their initials.
