About this School Project (5 Lichtenstein Pop Art Animals)
We looked at the work of Pop Artists Roy Lichtenstein, Andy Warhol and Wayne Thiebaud, and talked about the simple subjects, bold colors and comic book look in their art. We discussed drawing a strong and balanced composition, remembering our previous work on that. We viewed animal-themed work by Lichtenstein, and talked bout his use of dots and that technique drawn from CMYK printing presses. Students chose an animal to draw, and used bold colors, strong outlines, and sometimes speech bubbles and text to create these awesome images!
