Artist Statement (what Aaron22533 said about their artwork)
I made this artwork because we have been learning about impressionism. I used Monet's style because we looked at some of his work.
I used an orange paper to compliment the blue sky. I used oil pastels to start with red blobs on the paper for the poppies. Next, I layered various greens for the grass and stems. I used light and medium blues for my sky. I also added highlights and shadows.
I learned a bit about impressionism and how to layer oil pastels. I enjoyed working on this, yet I think I could've done better due to the sloppiness.
