In my project, the mediums I used consisted of watercolor, acrylic paint, and Sharpie. I tried to communicate a message of inspiring others, and I did this by putting music notes and a staff in my art because lots of people have been inspired by music, songs and art. I also wrote the word inspire in the lines of the staff which tells my message pretty clearly. I used principles of design by having everything circling around the word “inspire” to create dominance. I also used unity by making everything except the background black, so they all go together. I made some changes to my artwork because I wasn’t going to put the word inspire in my design and I also wanted to put more than 3 colors in the background, so I used them all. Another thing I changed was the notes inside the staff. I didn’t put any of the notes in the staff, because I thought that would be too crowded in that area, so they are all in the background. The final thing I did was outline some of the notes and lines with black acrylic paint so you could see them better. www.bose.com says that music can inspire others because it can improve focus, raise morale and generally make you feel happier. Some of my peers said that I could improve my design by adding bolder lines to make everything else pop a little more. They also said they like the different patterns and colors in my design.
