About this School Project (1st Grade - Ice Castle)
First we drew symmetrical castles using various geometric shapes. Then we used a wet on wet watercolor technique to create the icy texture on the castles. See if your student can explain this process to you. Next we cut out our symmetrical castle and glued it to the turquoise background paper. Lastly, we added a path leading to our doorways, tore white paper for the snowy ground, and used colored pencils to color in our windows, doors, and also to add a little texture to our snow. The very last finishing touch was the most enjoyable step, snow speckling! See if your first grader can explain this step to you.
