About this School Project (Geometric and Organic Shapes in Warm and Cool Colors - 1)
First grade was very excited to use real-world applications to learn the differences between Geometric shapes and Organic shapes. We then took what we had learned about these shapes and created an artwork with them! Students were tasked to fill one half of their paper using only geometric shapes and the other only organic shapes. Their goal was to fill the space with as many shapes as they could, being sure to use shapes of different sizes going different directions. We then used oil pastels to color in our shapes with the warm colors on one side and cool colors on the other. Finally, we painted our background using tempera cake paints!
