Artist Statement (what Monica3692 said about their artwork)
My face jug reflects the personal influences of using green, my favorite color. The message I wanted to convey with this project is deception because the first pair of eyes are normal and just looking straight ahead, while the other pair of eyes are avoiding eye contact and looking away. the techniques I used for my face jug is coil method to build the base and the handle. For the pair of eyes, I made one eye shape with overlayed clay on it and made a similar shape. The top pair of eyes are made to look like they are avoiding eye contact. The eyebrows were made by using small coils. The nose I wanted to create is normal but also big for the face. The lips I wanted the face to not be smiling as it was trying to add to the concept of deception.
