About this School Project (Free Create / Free Draw / Impermanent Art)
This work of art is being added to the student's portfolio under this category because it is not an assigned project. This means the work was done during extra time because the student finished early, received a class award, or take two classes in the art studio. We have center work that can be created by students but must be dismantled at the end of class. This is called impermanent artwork. Students are strongly encouraged to photograph these works because the photo image will remain a permanent piece in their portfolio.
Occasionally, I have not uploaded a project or students are unsure of what the assignment is and they will put it under this category. This category does not have a requirement to answer a question or present an artist statement about their work. All mandatory projects have a written component for grade 2-5 to assess understanding.
