Artist Statement (what Eli19465 said about their artwork)
I was inspired by Emanuele Dascanio and Frida Kahlo to make this self portrait. we worked on the facial proportions and symbolism during this art piece. i thought making realism art was fun and it inspired me to make more realistic art and i drew myself wearing one of my favorite sweatshirts.
About this School Project (Realistic self-portrait)
Students learned how to use correct proportions to draw and shade their faces. We also learned how to draw accessories like glasses and freckles to make them look more like us. This took us about 6 class periods and their hard work really paid off! Artists like Emanuele Dascanio and Frida Kahlo were inspiring to us. Afterwards, we did a raised relief printmaking project for the background. It was intended to capture the passion Frida Kahlo has incorporating things that she loves.
