Artist Statement (what Avery3278 said about their artwork)
-My inspiration for this piece was a pool table, with the pool balls and cue sticks too.
-If I were to make this again, I would redo the stripped balls; I felt rushed to finish and I didn't look over my reference photos and got the color placement wrong. I should have taken my time to make sure everything was correct.
-A technique I used while building this project frequently was scoring and slipping. I used this technique to build up the walls of my board and to secure the cue sticks to to the board.
-A challenge I faced while making this project was the drooping of the cue sticks, I had to repair some of the sticks with air dry clay which meant I couldn't glaze it.
About this School Project (Ceramics- Tic Tac Toe Boards)
Students made themed tic tac toe boards from ceramic clay. They were challenged to make a themed board, sculpt two kinds of 3D game pieces that balance and are easy to use. They were able to paint or glaze their pieces according to what worked better for their game board aesthetic. Enjoy the creativity of their ideas!
