About this School Project (Balloons over Broadway)
Students learned about the puppeteer, Tony Sarg. Tony invented the big balloons that are seen in the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade every year. First students drew buildings to represent a city. Students chose between watercolor paint, color pencil, or color crayons to add color to their buildings. Next students got to choose a cartoon character or animal for their balloons. Last students glued their balloon onto their paper and added the strings that handlers would use to control the balloon.
