Artist Statement (what Emma52230 said about their artwork)
I chose to draw the Lululemon logo. I think this part of pop culture because it’s a very popular brand and I really like to wear it and it’s very comfy. I used the colors yellow, purple, red, green, blue, and orange. If I made another work of art I would make a different picture of a soccer ball, a lacrosse stick, or a hockey skick.
About this School Project (5 - Pop Art Prints, inspired by Andy Warhol)
Fifth grade artists learned about the Pop Art movement and the famous artist, Andy Warhol. They chose an image from our current pop culture to create their own prints, like the artist. They drew their image, transferred it to printing foam, created practice prints with marker, and then use block printing ink to create their prints with complementary colors. Once their prints were dry, they carefully cut them out and attached them to a black piece of paper to create the illusion that their pop art is popping out of the paper.
