About this School Project (2 Cradleboards)
2nd graders learned about Native American Cradleboards, and how they were used to keep babies safe, warm, and close to their parents while they worked and traveled. They drew babies wrapped in blankets with geometric patterns, and stuffed them to make them 3D. They formed the cradleboards from large paper, and reinforced them with dowel rods to make them sturdy. They were painted with dot "beads" and laced up with yarn.
