About this School Project (2nd Grade Christmas Quilts)
Students learned about the artist Gustav Klimt. He loved to paint with golds and metallic paints. We looked at his paintings of a baby with a quilt. Students made patterned quilts with metallic paints. They drew a picture of their face and added it to the top of the quilt. We also read the book, "The Quiltmaker's Gift" and read the poem "Twas the Night Before Christmas."
