About this School Project (Fall Pumpkins, Scarecrows, Gnomes & Calico Corn)
4th grade students drew pumpkins, added faces/details and then split their page with intersecting lines. They created a color plan for pumpkin areas vs. the background and colored each section in with various color schemes.
2nd grade learned how to draw pumpkins on leaves and then tried creating value and form using oil pastels.
K & 1st grades created scarecrows using various shapes and then added backgrounds incorporating fall leaves. Then they drew pumpkins and cut them into shapes that they re-assembled and glued onto a new piece of paper. They created stems, leaves, and vines from cut construction paper and used oil pastels to create depth to their pumpkins.
K & 1 students also created calico corn using bubble wrap to stamp patterns onto black paper and then cut out corn shapes. They used brown markers on yellow paper to create lines and tore strips for the husks. They assembled the pieces onto green paper creating space by overlapping.
