About this School Project (Kindergarten Royal Birds)
Kindergarten artists continued to work toward Ohio Visual Art Standards as they drew, collaged, and played with art materials.
Students worked toward Standard K.3CR "Discover how the elements of art can be used in artmaking" as they identified and used varying lines and shapes (2 Elements of Art) to draw birds. Students worked toward Standard K.2PE "Explore a variety of materials and tools to create works of art" as they used paint markers and oil pastels to add color to their drawings. Ask your student what they liked or did not like about the oil pastels and paint markers! Do they have a favorite? Why?
Students then worked toward Standard K.1PE "Demonstrate willingness to try new processes" as they used scissors to cut out a crown shape for their birds to become royalty! Students really showed the IB attribute of being a risk-taker as this was a challenging process for many to turn the paper and scissors to cut out small triangle shapes. I am really proud of all artists for showing persistence in building this collage skill!
Students then worked toward Standard "K.2CR Engage in self-directed play with various materials!" Artists can play with materials and their own artworks. Ask your artist their bird's name. What is their bird's personality like?
