About this School Project (1st - POP ART fruit)
The students looked at the artwork of Andy Warhol and Roy Lichtenstein. We talked about how they made artwork of ordinary, everyday objects, like cans of soup or fruit. We discussed how the artists used dots and outlines of black to make the food look like a cartoon. Each student picked a fruit, and using a photograph as reference, used basic shapes to draw their fruit on a piece of paper. They used dot stampers to add colors that they saw in the photo, and black ink to outline their work. Next, they glued down strips of paper (they had the option to make a pattern) and then cut out and glued their fruit on top.
