About this School Project (Winter Landscape Notan)
We explored the idea of positive and negative space and how positive space is the space actually taken up by an item and negative space is all the space surrounding the item. We then talk about how artists can use positive and negative space that plays with your eye to make you question what is actually there. We then cut out pieces and created a shadow effect with our notans, or Japanese art of light and dark next to each other.
