About this School Project (K Textured Trees)
Kindergarteners learned about the TEXTURE–the way something feels or the way it looks like it feels. We read "Hold on Toby," by Janet Bierbower-Boucher which is about a little leaf who grows and changes through the seasons. Then students created a tree with actual texture using glue and tissue paper. The following day, students used sponges and paint to create a tree that has the illusion of texture. Kindergarteners also learned how to mount their own artwork to the colored background.
