About this School Project (Falling leaves)
Students first traced three different leaves and outlined them in sharpie. They then got to try a new method of getting the color on their leaves. They were given a piece of aluminum foil and water-based markers in fall colors. They colored on the tin foil and then I sprayed the foil with water. They then turned their printed leaf onto the wet colors and made a monoprint. There were many oohs and aahs.
The second step was to paint a windy sky. First, using a white oil pastel they drew lines to represent wind. Next, they were given blue and purple watercolor paints and told to paint the entire paper. The last step was to cut and glue on our leaves.
