About this School Project (Pinch pot pumpkins (ceramics))
Students created a pumpkin from a pinch pot. They used their hands to create a pinch pot using skills they learned in kindergarten. Then they used a variety of art tools to create the lines on the side of the pumpkin then used a score and slip method to attach pieces of clay. Once their pumpkins were fired they could glaze them with whatever colors they would like. Some decided to add polka dots as a review of the Artist Yayoi Kusama who creates pumpkin sculptures and paints them in polka dots.
