Artist Statement (what Koy109 said about their artwork)
1. Dia de los Muertos mean Day of the Dead.
2. One element of art I used was shape, and it can be found on my face.
3. One principle of art I used was rhythm, and It can be found on the frame.
About this School Project (Sugar Skull Selfies)
In this lesson, students learned about Dia de los Muertos, then took a selfie using the classroom iPads. These were printed in black and white, then embellished with markers to create a sugar skull design. They were cut out, glued to a folded strip of construction paper, then mounted onto a decorated background sheet. Tooling foil frames were added last.
