About this School Project (2nd Gr. Inquirers Explore with Materials to Create Dandelion Textures & Colorful Skies)
2nd grade artists have been utilizing their knowledge of the Elements of Art (line, shape, space, value, texture, and form) in their drawings! They practiced drawing varied line types to imply the texture of a dandelion.
Students were inquirers (October’s IB PYP attribute of the month) as they explored with different amounts of watercolor paint colors and water to create different colors and values in sky paintings. They also experimented with different drawing and painting materials to figure out what they liked best to add color to their dandelion drawings!
Students were working toward the following Ohio Visual Art Standards as they were drawing, painting, and exploring with materials:
2.3PE: Produce works that intentionally incorporate the elements of art (line, shape, space, value, texture, form.)
2.2PE Apply increasing skill in the appropriate use of materials and tools.
