About this School Project (Continuous Line Doodle)
Students focused on the element of line for this art project. We discussed how lines can be used to create many of the other elements of art including shape, form, texture, and value. We viewed examples of implied line, lines in drawings, and lines as sculptures. For their project students created a large continuous line. A continuous line is created by not picking up your drawing utensil from the paper and involves drawing by only using one line. They drew a continuous line to loop around their entire paper using black sharpie. After a short period of time they lifted their marker and had to identify the shapes within the overlapping lines. They were to use their creativity to draw details within in combined shapes to turn into different type of objects such as fish, balloons, faces, animal, and much more. After drawing in details with pencil, they used colored sharpie and colored pencil to add color and make their objects stand out.
