About this School Project (Flower Vase Collage)
1st graders continued with their study and discussion of still lives by creating a collage vase of flowers at eye level perspective. We created multiple abstract pieces and assembled them into our finished work of art. Students started with the creation of three pieces of textured paper to be used for the tablecloth, vase, and flowers; and a larger sheet of white paper that explored simple line shapes and patterns to be used for the background. These pieces were transformed into the final product with discussions on symmetry, proper use of templates, and lots of consideration of proper spacing and overlapping.
