About this School Project (2nd Grade: Great Horned Owl)
As part of our annual National Parks Unit, 2nd graders begin our artistic endeavors by investigating the habitat and characteristics of The Great Horned Owl. We take a MODERN ART/ABSTRACT approach to our owls. Using contemporary artist, Gareth Lucas as our inspiration, students will begin by creating a tissue paper background for their owl body and completing the collage with various painted and textured papers and paint for final details.
